The Friends of the Gardens of Matter Park present “Musical Magic in The Garden House”

The Friends of The Gardens of Matter Park will host a kick off for St. Patrick’s Day, “Musical Magic in The Garden House,” to help set everyone’s blarney in motion! This is a new event for 2018, co-sponsored by the City of Marion Parks Department, Paddock View Residential Center, and Black Dog Farms. On the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, the musical group Traveler’s Dream will present a night of sprightly Irish jigs and reels along with traditional songs of the Celtic Lands. This event features a larger version of Traveler’s Dream that performs with a variety of unique, indigenous instruments. Caitlin Bragg will provide Irish dancing demonstrations. Guests can join in the dancing and enjoy Irish Cream beverages, decadent desserts and a cash bar. Admission includes refreshments: $15/person or $25/couple. Seating is limited. The Friends of the Gardens of Matter Park, Inc. is a non-profit organization that offers an annual series of educational and quality of life programming for the benefit of Grant County and surrounding communities. The organization also raises funding for the Gardens of Matter Park Endowment at the Community Foundation of Grant County to secure the future of the Gardens. The Gardens of Matter Park are one of just five Proven Winners “Signature Gardens” in the U.S. and the home of the award-winning Butterfly Garden. The Friends offer programming each year at little or no charge, uniquely designed to raise awareness and appreciation of the environment. The Friends also co-sponsor the Garden Education Series with the City of Marion, presenting experts on such topics as bugs, birds of prey, and honey bees. The Friends are grateful for faithful financial donors, and for local students, clubs, retirees and other community members who donate hundreds of hours in the Gardens to help prepare, plant and maintain the beds each year.
