Taylor University presents "Friends & Favorites"

The TU Dept. of Music and the Performing Artist Series are pleased to welcome tenor Dr. Robert Bracey along with pianist Dr. Karen Beres to Taylor University.  They will present a voice recital Friday evening, Sept. 18, at 7:30 pm in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall. 
 
A concert and oratorio specialist, Dr. Bracey is currently Professor of Voice and Coordinator of Vocal Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  “Teachers of music have long programmed whole recitals or groups of pieces based on specific composers, poetic ideas, musical periods, instrumentation, and even curricular requirements.  The selection of repertoire for this recital was quite simple.  All of the songs presented here are favorites of mine.  They are works I have assigned to my voice students over the past 28 years.  Nearly all are pieces I have never had the privilege of performing myself.  It’s now my turn.”
