Taylor University Presents Martin Luther King Day Concert

“Then Sings My Soul:  Songs & Spirituals from the American Experience”

Starring Cheryse McLeod Lewis, mezzo-soprano

The Taylor University Performing Artist Series, in collaboration with the Martin Luther King Day Committee, would like to invite the Taylor community to attend “Then Sings My Soul:  Songs & Spirituals from the American Experience” by award winning mezzo-soprano Cheryse McLeod Lewis.

This concert is an uplifting journey that traverses through some of the most beautiful music ever  written.  Ms. Lewis brings to life stunning spirituals, moving art songs, and Broadway favorites that include "You'll Never Walk Alone" (Carousel), "Climb Every Mountain'' (Sound of Music), "Somewhere" (West Side Story), "Ride On  King Jesus,” "He's  Got The  Whole  World In His Hands,” and Lee  Hoiby's stirring  musical setting of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech.
